Following the completion of the final projects and a series of interviews, Venture Garden Group has announced the employment of more candidates from its maiden Virtual Internship Program (VIP).

Launched in January 2020, the initiative had over 1,300 interns sign up to the programme. The remote internship was not restricted to Nigerians alone as it recorded six participants from Ghana, four from Kenya, two from the US and UK, one from Canada, five from South Africa and 1,322 from Nigeria.

The global reliance on technology to solve business problems has led to an increased demand for tech-related skills across the globe. This informed the virtual internship program which is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative instituted by VGG to close the resourcing gaps in the tech space by building top talents across the World.

The five candidates from the programme have been employed by VGG subsidiaries with exciting remuneration packages. They are Kingsley Omin, Stephanie Oparaku and Ayodeji Olagbaiye who are joining Vigipay, Avitech, Edutech and GSV companies as UI/UX Product Designers; Chike Egonu and Kalu Orji who are working with Garden Data and Powertech companies respectively as Backend Developers.

Speaking with the candidates, they all expressed heartfelt appreciation for the programme, describing their experience in superlative terms. According to Kingsley, he was delighted to have been empowered in the areas of conducting project research and documentation. Chike mentioned how the programme gave him a fresh start and practical knowledge in the tech field as he transited from an accounting background.

Stephanie, the only female among the new hires said she was glad for the opportunity to work on real-life projects and the chance to interact with like minds in VGG. Ayodeji on his part revealed how the employment was timely as it contributes to the rapid growth in his career. Finally, we reached out to Kalu and he told us how he simultaneously gained learning, working and business experience through the programme which was a dream come through for him.

In operation since 2011, VGG is a holding company and investor in several fintech companies addressing payment and data inefficiencies in various sectors and providing solutions for public and private sector companies.
